Yes, I'm sick of the roids stories as well.
Yes, as a Red Sox fan I'm pretty sure there are more than a few of "my guys" on that list, and yes, it would hurt if I found out a guy like David Ortiz was juicing when he practically single-handedly carried the Sox to the promised land in '04.

But this stuff DOES or SHOULD matter to some extent because of the guys who didn't do it and had their records nixed by the jackasses who did. (Hank Aaron is still the all-time HR king to me, and I don't give a damn what Barry Bonds' numbers say).

Guys like Rice, Yaz, Ernie Banks, Ryne Sandberg, Koufax, I could go on and on...who relied solely on their talent and hard work get their numbers all skewed by these cry baby millionaires who turn down $25 Mil for one year b/c they feel "disrespected", and turn to 'roids b/c they have to have their names in the spotlight brighter than anyone else's and then have the temerity to lie about it while feigning outrage at the same time (Clemens, Bonds, Palmiero)...it's enough to sicken even the hardest-core fan.

baseball is the greatest game ever invented and I love the game itself, but it's the ultimate irony that its greatest threat comes from the very people who play it.
